19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's first championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 different tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children at once, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.
The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a tight third set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
